differences and similarities between conduction and convection

The principle of conduction and convection is the same; heat is transferred from an area where there is more warmth to an area which is cooler. (similarities)

Conduction refers to the transfer of heat energy through solids; convection on the other hand refers to the transfer of heat through liquids and gases. (differences)
